BIOGRAFy:

The Streetbeat Team unites in September 2003 at Radioseregno, a small radio station situated near Milan with a 30-year-long experience on its behalf, when Michael a.k.a. il Duca, who had already been hosting Streetbeat for two years, asks Matt (an emcee) and DB (a beatmaker/sound technician) to accompany the new edition of the program, after previously getting in touch with them in some hip-hop clubs on the northern outskirts of Milan.

Although different from each other, the complementary personalities of the three guys gives them a possibility to make a fresh start in reorganizing: Streetbeat begins going deep into the underground part of hip-hop, distancing itself as much as possible from the commercial one. Since the first 120 minutes of broadcasting, Michael and Matt share their work as speakers each one with his own peculiarities, while DB is involved with the music selection and the technical part. Moreover, the work keeps going constantly on also out of the radio studio, with the guys always busy looking for the best hip-hop releases to put in rotation and also promoting Streetbeat on the territory.

During these intense times, the Team keeps on empowering the program more and more, hosting both front-rank and emerging artists and coming into contact with people all over Italy. Thanks to these choices, the program becomes well known much beyond the diffusion borders of its local radio station; the will (and, of course, the implicit need) to take another step forwards is unavoidable, and creating a website is the right move to make.

At this time we reach 2005, when the wish becomes reality with the birth of streetbeat.it, and then the beginning of 2007 when Radioseregno stops its activity and Streetbeat reacts to it becoming emancipated, developing officially into the first Italian hip-hop Web Radio. A page of revolution.

with Dominican blood flowing through his veins, arteries and capillaries, he’s the “old schooler” of the team. A former writer and breaker, Michael now concentrates on his will to become a professional radio-speaker.
